Summertime

Somehow, even with all of this free time I have lately, I still haven't managed to keep up with this blog.  In fact, I think I have moved past the stage of filling my time with cleaning and projects and errands into being a totally unproductive couch potato!  All of this extra time has quickly become more of a burden than a relief.

I finished up my summer program in early July and dove head-first into the job hunt.  A week later we headed to Destin to spend a week at the beach with Michael's parents.  It was sooo nice for us both to just get away for a while.  Days when Michael and I are both off and able to spend time together are precious and few, so we enjoyed every minute of it!  We also hadn't seen Michael's parents since our wedding, so this trip was much-needed for all.

Michael is a huge 311 fan.  And I am a huge fan of Michael.  So at the beginning of August, we drove back to Florida for the 311 Pow Wow Festival.  We spent 3 days tent-camping, lounging in the Suwanee River, listening to good music, dancing, sweating our butts off, and loving it!  Even though the music wasn't my favorite, it was actually tons of fun!

And then it was back to hunting.... lots of phone calls, emails, a few random school visits, and a couple of "just-in-case-something-opens-up" interviews later... still nothing.  Who would have thought it would be this difficult!  Not that I haven't had some promising interviews and lots of encouragement, but apparently the jobs just aren't out there right now.  Hopefully it won't be too much longer...
